1ABY - Where Are They Now?
« on: 12/25/14, 12:27:17 PM »
This thread was mostly spun up as a concoction of thoughts regarding the simple, basic question of 'Where would my character be, if he/she was in the original trilogy?'

I give my advance thanks to @Thrax for bringing the idea to light, as we were in the chatroom discussing Star Wars Galaxies RP and what it was like to RP there. I also see this thread as a delightful opportunity to brainstorm and excite about the upcoming Episode 7. If you want - you could even shoot yourself into that timeframe!

All the same, this is mostly a little chance to explore what your lil Jedi, or angry Sith or cocky Smuggler would be up to while Han Solo dodges spacewurms! Enjoy

Audaine Buelle
Outcast Luka Sene, Dark(?) Jedi.

The Empire watched the Miraluka with a stern gaze, the entirety of interstellar travel inside the Abron system under strict management. The species was naturally Force-Sensitive; and were a threat to the integrity of the Galactic Empire. If they did not serve the Empire, they could cause strife and run amok.

But Ashla's whispers did not ask to most. Bogan was deceitful and offered many promises of power and control. The coaxing whisper of the snake was more alluring than the promises of the paragon. Audaine herself was without guidance when she strayed her path. After nimble exit and narrowly escaping the clutch of the Empire's strict regime, the wayward Luka Sene explored the galaxy, following the Force itself. Without the Jedi Order to teach her the advanced mechanics of the Force, and with the Sith looking to uniform and conform anyone who had an inkling of the Force in them, the rogue Miraluka spent her days watching as the galaxy around her turned. How the mighty fell, and the small usurped only to meet the same fate.

((In all honesty it's pretty much the same, only she doesn't become a Sith. Kinda just floats like some weird Obi-wan without the wisdom.))
((I'd also start listing my other toons but I'll let others pick up the ball from here. Tell us bout'cho AU Original Trilogized characters!))

I knew some of the Palace history, but not the bit about Jaade crashing that barge. That's good lore, right there.

The Wymarc Legacy:

/thread

This in a nutshell, basically... :D

But mine:

Darth Malagant: Probably would be a member of the Inquisitorius, under his birth name, Masac Undjo; may also have ties to the Prophets of the Dark Side (the real ones, that is, not the Imperial Intelligence fakes). Would still be a history nut. Would also still be a jackass.

Eidan Zherron: Alliance starship captain. May either be commander of a modified freighter (I visualize a "modern day" Direwolf as a YT-2400, like Dash Rendar's Outrider) or a cruiser.

Saxtus Fayhan: Dead twenty years, killed by Order 66.

Kieran Devaneaux: Dark Jedi twisted in a pit of self-loathing for his betrayal of the Order, yet still walking the dark path.

Varan (Torv'ara'nerasi): Member of Thrawn's Household Phalanx on Nirauan, keeping an eye on things in the Unknown Regions. Probably with his brother Veerak.

Melena Linavil: Rebel Special Forces. When you absolutely need Imps to go boom.

Euphrati Velade: Imperial officer, naturally. Either a special forces general, an armored division commander (a la General Veers), or a Moff in charge of a certain sector...

Katran and Caradell: Probably on the run, trying to avoid the attention of the Imperial Jedi-hunters. Caradell might be turned...

Secret lines carved on ancient stone
Heroic kings laid down to rest
Forgotten is the race that no one knows

Darth Magius: A 4,000-year-old lich now going by his original name again, laying dormant and buried in some forgotten tomb on some forgotten Sith planet, waiting to be reawakened by some unwitting adventurer.

Gorr: Sacrificed to the Night Sisters on Dathomir.

Lannist: Imperial officer serving on the Death Star... until it got exploded.

Rotersand: Doing Mandalorian things... whatever that means anymore. He thinks Boba Fett's reputation is all hype and hopes to challenge him in a Mandalorian duel someday, hopefully before he's unexpectedly eaten by a sarlaac. It could happen.

Jevlas: Serving the Empire as an assassin, wearing a mask to hide his Pureblood heritage. How he came to be in the Empire's service is a mystery, but it's rumored that Vader recruited him.

Kaimona & Mavus Oshumv: Flying around the outer rim, being space pirates, racking up street cred. They're on the same crew, serving aboard an illegally modified freighter called, Tears of Alderaan, and primarily focus on piracy against the Empire.

Savlen: Died in the Purge.

Sylvenna: Died when Alderaan got exploded.

Erakleon: Though he trained and served as a member of Emperor Palpatine's personal enforcers, The Emperor's Hand before his defeat aboard the Second Death Star, Erakleon now currently wanders the Galaxy in search of Force Sensitives who may be able to train him and help him truly understand the powers he wields so well. Perhaps even the new Jedi Order could help...? He still keeps in contact with his half-brother, the infamous scoundrel who somehow became a galactic celebrity.

Thackeray: Fame transcends time, it seems, for our beloved Thackeray is a very famous model and actor. All the women want to be with him, all men want to be him. Thackeray thoroughly enjoys his extravagant lifestyle, but always seems to desire something more.
He is still persuing his already interstellar acting career, appearing in many Holo-vid blockbusters such as The Datapad, Smuggler Squad, To Kill an Orobird and Thackablanca. He is also opening a new line of men's cologne under the rather controversial name of Darth Klein.

Painkillers: Due to his extensive combat experience as a freelance mercenary, as well as his brilliantly developed medicinal skills both on and off the battlefield, Kyle was recruited by the New Republic as one of it's most prominent field Doctors, where he earned the affectionately given nickname of Painkillers.

Sarkanas: Young Sark spent most of his teenage years in hiding, as his ever-growing Force powers grew out of his control, but on his 17th birthday a Jedi came to him and told him of a place where he could learn to control his powers and use them for good; The Jedi Academy. And so he set out for Yavin 4.

Aena: Was discovered to be Force-sensitive by one of the Jedi that Queen Apailana of Naboo was hiding. The Jedi offered to train her, but her parents refused, not wanting their daughter to become a potential target for the Empire. This proved to be her salvation, as after the Jedi and Queen Apailana were killed by the 501st Legion, Aena was not discovered, and was hidden by her parents in her mother's home town. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, Aena joined the New Jedi Order.

Jen'asha: Was discovered by the Inquisitors and forced to serve the Empire. Eventually, she grew sick of the things she did, and after falling in love with a captive Rebel Alliance soldier, fled the Empire with him and joined the Rebel Alliance. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, Jen'asha joined the New Jedi Order.

Shas'ira: Never left the Chiss Ascendancy.

Hmmmm...

For the record, I'm playing a bit fast and loose with the prompt. Not all of my chars would survive until then, and the stuff in the years before the Battle of Yavin is more interesting in many cases :).

Lien Orell: After a nasty argument with his father about the need for order, Lien runs away from home to join the Imperial military, serving with distinction in keeping the malcontents and smaller surges of rebellion stamped down.

Kyri Orell: While initially grateful for her medical training, as a result of Lien's service in the Imperial Military, her attitude towards the Empire deteriorated, treating too many unusual wounds consistent with police brutality and torture soured her to the group, and eventually led to her fleeing Coruscant with the aid of a Rebellion grateful for a trained doctor's assistance.

Effet Ornell: The Rattataki had no real care for the new Empire, the new boss seeming much like the old one... at least that was before they bombed his hometown to oblivion for hiding a cell of the rebellion. After he managed to help some of the rebels escape, he was persuaded by the cell's leader, Doc Orell, to join them, seeking payback for all his lost friends... and slowly growning more and more enamored by the human doctor and her commitment to the cause.

Merrant: After losing his control during the Clone Wars, he was arrested by the Jedi for several counts of murder, and held in a Jedi prison for the remainder of the war. When Order 66 came down, he became an easy target for the Clones and, defenseless, did not survive the day.

Soldin and Shaantil: Master Soldin and Padawan Shaantil were together when Order 66 came down. Heavily outnumbeed, Soldin held her ground, ordering her Padawan and daughter to flee to safety which Shaantil only reluctantly followed. On Soldin's death, and Shaantil receiving Master Kenobi's automated instruction, she fled the Empire for the outer rim, trying to stay hidden from the Empire's searching gaze while helping people however she could, and reluctantly returning to the reformed Jedi Order once she heard of it.

Quarasha: Held as a slave on the outer rim, she had no understanding of nascent power within her... at least until the local slavemaster was confronted by a renegade Jedi. Her owner's troops were many, and nearly overwhelmed the Jedi... but thy lost their stomach for the fight when the master's eye-candy sprung, killing her owner with a small knife. Grateful, Shaantil agreed to take Quarasha along with her, teaching the Twi'lek what she knew about the Force, and trying to keep the young woman's anger under control.

Hawking Shatari is bumming around on an exceedingly backwater and relatively unknown world of little regard, Obi-Wanning around for the time being, having narrowly survived Operation Knightfall some years prior. He still bears the guilt of his Padawan's death in the purge, but managed to make peace with the past long enough to be of use to the Rebellion and subsequently the NJO.

Arlatha Shatari was never born.

Ryles Shatari ended up fighting for the Rebellion after a distinguished career in the Imperial Military, eventually meeting her death on Hoth, covering the Rebellion's escape.

Vazzily Delone still fights for the rebellion as a black operations soldier, his ruthless efficiency and lack of mercy for the Empire a source of concern to his higher ups.

Sarreth Shatari was killed, alongside any remainders of Republic Intelligence.

Kesstral Attano hit the hyperlanes, doing basically what she does in 3,600 BBY.

Lord Lethash was never sent on the disastrous mission that turned him to the dark side, and was subsequently killed during Operation Knightfall.

Darth Lexicanus remains in the shadows, seeing and hearing all, continuing to manipulate events where it suits him.

Lord Carvur was taken as a child from the outer rim by Lexicanus, under the guise of an imaginary friend. Carvur was, much like in 3,600 BBY, changed physically and indoctrinated mentally to be Lexicanus's attack dog. He remains with his master, lurking in the vast shadows of the Empire.

Sheytan, having never have been sent to Korriban or picked up by a certain Lord Necare, remained as a moisture farmer on Tatooine.

Cassidy Shatari also does basically what she does in 3,600 BBY, albeit leaning more toward freelancing for the  Rebellion.

Kal'tracyn Kelborn, a former member of the Death Watch, left the shadowy organization during its decline, instead returning to Mandalore to work as a bes'kar smith.

Tarrolan Shatari has not been seen for some 20 years...

Ralakan Walker is a military officer in the Rebellion, having fled his Imperial service, the one thing he could never have done in 3,600 BBY.

Characters:

-Hawking Shatari, Wandering Warrior
-Aspasia Maguire, Smack Talker
-Rieko "Boogie" Black, Agent of the Empire

Let's see...

Ilireth Necare: Well, Purebloods don't exist anymore by the Original Trilogy, and there are only two Sith in existence, so Ilireth pretty much simply can't exist in the Original Trilogy.

Auranel: There's only three Jedi in existence in the Original Trilogy, and two of them die. Soooo... Auranel wouldn't be a Force Sensitive character, and would probably just be a hotshot junker pilot who puts ships together, shoots things, and occasionally salvages wrecks with her old man.

Emthree-Aypee: Probably would just be an Imperial Piloting Droid instead of a Republic one. Not much difference.

Sharak Vastar: There are no Cathar in the original trilogy, though we are yet unaware if this is just a relic of the Cathar having been created after that fact or if they don't actually exist - so we'll say he was a Bothan instead. Helping to tell people about this really dangerous mission into a trench on this really dangerous Imperial space station...

Bolas: The Empire didn't set fire to Luke's home. Bolas did. See if you yell at him about buying droids again! HOW ABOUT SOME TOSCHE STATION POWER CONVERTERS NOW, HUH?!

Fenrir: He's just here to fight the wookie.

Sciran: Random spacer in the corner at Jabba's Palace, making trade deals. Never leaves Tatooine. Piracy doesn't pay in the Original Trilogy, so he'd never have been tempted.

Parts of this are cribbed from my RP (and PVE) experiences in SWG. Here we go!

Thrax: Sendric Rist was raised and trained as a Jedi, but defected to the Separatists as soon as the Clone Wars began due to his dissatisfaction with Jedi life. He embraced the dark side fully and became a Dark Acolyte and participated in various missions until 19 ABY, when the CIS fell apart, and he was forced to go into hiding. He lived on the fringes of space for a time, trying to evade Imperial patrols, having no interest in serving the remnants of the Republic that he fought against.

During this time, Sendric meets a Force-sensitive Lethan twi'lek named Aseva Aieya and they start a romance, which produces a single child named Zakani Rist (Hazek). He and his family drift through space on a YT-2400 known as "Crimson Blade", staying in the relative shadows of the galaxy as they travel from world to world seeking dark side secrets.

Feeling the destruction of his homeworld Alderaan, Sendric goes a little mad and resolves to find a little world to call his own. He travels to a relatively unknown mid-rim planet called Zythia to start pursuing his goal of a personal dictatorship in earnest.

Volgoss was a kindly Luka Sene priest. He lived to a ripe old age, and was killed in the aftermath of Operation: Knightfall.

Kurnak became a member of the Death Watch during the Clone Wars. He survived through to eventually hide out on Endor in the Death Watch Bunker, protecting it from scum looking to ruin their dealings with the Black Sun. He was killed by a group of spacers looking to craft Mandalorian armor for themselves.

Xantrell became a member of the Black Sun during the Clone Wars. He survived through to eventually hide out on Endor in the Death Watch Bunker, protecting it from scum looking to ruin their dealings with the Death Watch. He was killed by a group of spacers looking to craft Mandalorian armor for themselves.

Xaton also became a member of the Black Sun during the Clone Wars, just like his younger brother, but primarily he served as a pirate. Eventually, he became a Black Sun Ace and was awarded a Vigo Gunship and assaulted the space lanes around Ord Mantell until he was eventually killed, ironically enough, by the same group of spacers that killed his brother. They looted his awesome looking helmet.

Akunadan inherited his father's legacy on Rattatak and became the leader of one of the many tribes seeking dominance over the gladiatorial world. His brutality was unparalleled as he waged total war against the entire planet, fully exploiting his Force-sensitivity to bolster his forces and crush his enemies. Eventually, he was killed by an Emperor's Hand when he refused to capitulate to the demands of the Empire. His heirs battled ceaselessly over his powerbase, continuing the cycle of violence on Rattatak for decades to come.

Seylon became a Jedi, and died during Operation: Knightfall, full of doubt and regret over how he had spent his life.

Kamsen was eventually promoted to the Moff's Council, and was charged with overseeing the Imperial garrisons on the moons of Corellia. He was killed after the battle of Endor by a Rebel SpecForce team and the Empire's hold over Talus and Tralus has never been nearly as strong since then.

Ja'zin (The Deprogrammer) became a Rebel SpecForce Major noted for his unorthodox tactics revolving around slicing and sabotage, and participated in many raids on high-value Imperial targets. His crowning achievement was assassinating Moff Kamsen on the moons of Corellia by remotely hacking his automated caf machine and rigging it to violently explode.

Thellas never left the Ascendancy, and served dutifully throughout his entire life.

Xaoren died on Haruun Kal during the Clone Wars. Meh.

Sar'shosen was one of the younglings murdered during Operation: Knightfall.

Zaborr became a heavy weapons stormtrooper and loved every minute of it.

Mikella was pulled into the Black Sun crime syndicate after the gang life on Iridonia was proving to be a dead end for the talented mechanic and slicer. Though her life would be short lived - one too many mishaps with stims and spice lead to an unfortunate demise. Her name was forgotten easily, and replaced.

Or alternatively the Empire being so big and mighty, probably finds her and stamps her out for illicit substance abuse and slicing before the Black Sun would find her.

Kyrylo would've been one of the many forgettable faces in the crowds of Tatooine and Nar Shaddaa. Following 5ABY however, Kyrylo may have been among the many enlisted aliens in the new and reformed Imperial regime, allowing non-humans into the military. His armour would've been the most awesome looking stuff ever, completed with little claw openings in his gloves.

Myrm'eddi'apoth left Ascendancy space to pursue her unique and almost heretical tastes and fancies in physiology and cybernetics. However all contact with her is lost as she traverses into the Unknown Regions. She is assumed dead, by most regards.

Jorvar's breed was far and few by the days of 1ABY. It is very likely he continued to be a tyrant against the Zabrak people as the Iridonian people waged endless war upon themselves and anyone around them. Assuming he hadn't been killed in his own tribal wars, the Black Sun or perhaps Hutt Cartels would pluck the man from his homeworld and turn him into an aggressive enforcer. His one wish in life would never be fulfilled, however - he'd likely never experience the 'Good Fight' he was brought up to search for. Nobody would fight the man on equal terms - he'd likely meet his demise at the end of a blaster barrel.

Abethul however, would be relatively safe back home on Mirial, having been sheltered from the great Purge with her young age. In due time, the girl might encounter @Dassalya ...

Ok, so assuming they weren't on Alderaan....

Ralle - senatorial aid until Alderaan was destroyed, Rebellion agent after. Spying, rabble-rousing, assassination, that sort of thing.

Telline - Least likely to survive Alderaan, unless she was active in the Clone Wars time frame, in which case the Purge would get her. if she survived Alderaan, she'd probably end up as a rebellion commando.

Aradenn - without this era's advanced cybernetics, Aradenn would probably remain an imperial quartermaster until retirement.

Reiyan - left Alderaan asap to join the imperial academy to become a TIE pilot. She would defect to the rebellion after Alderaan's destruction.
Jedi Master Telline - The Master of Shadows
Initiate Karia Zent - The Rising Hero
Aurena Durane - The Rogue Reporter

I can tackle this question in two ways, thanks to the magic of having made two out of three of my characters in the old WotC Star Wars pen and paper RPG - port over and legacy characters.

Porting the three characters directly from SWTOR into the Original Trilogy: Jace doesn't change one bit. He's still a smuggler with a heart of gold who really would be an honest trader if there were better money in it. He'd side with the Rebellion without being obvious about it. Saura's story changes significantly as the odds of her getting personally tortured and maimed by a Sith are far less likely in this era. Odds are much better that she remains an outlaw tech for far longer, though would certainly side with the Rebellion far more eagerly than her brother. A future in the intelligence community is far less likely for her in that era, but man can she patch those X-Wings and droids on the fly. Drexa can't exist as I created her in this era, but if I use her original concept as antagonist to the Coltons as a basis, she might exist as an Imperial Navy officer who has been eluded and outsmarted by Jace one time too many and might seek revenge through his easier to find sister...

Legacy characters: I've actually played a Colton in the Original Trilogy era, thanks to the Star Wars RPG. He was an Imperial TIE pilot, and one of the few that was really good at it. If we assume that Jace, Saura and Drexa existed as they did in the Old Republic era, that Colton may have been a descendant of Jace and Seiyd. Unless, of course, something happens to Rayfer after he and Saura marry and have kids, and she hides her Marsteth son under her maiden name. As for Drexa, I'd like to imagine that someone in this era - maybe the Emperor, maybe a Jedi in hiding, or maybe just someone who doesn't understand what their talent is just yet - has acquired a very unusual holocron that contains the teachings of something called the Way of Akar...
Saura Colton - Former Republic slicer/spy
Jace Colton - Captain of the Second Star (retired)
Drexa Nahir - Akar Enclave Master (deceased)
