Subject: Ilireth Escape
By: Padawan Auranel Jaade
Preliminary evidence findings, as requested by Custodum Council.
Piecing together Ilireth's escape has not been a difficult task, considering the large amount of evidence left behind during the incident. These findings are to be made a matter of archive record, open to the Order and further investigation.
Ilireth's escape from his cell took the form of a lenghty tunnel, dug underneath the temple itself via construction droid. The droid's remains within Ilireth's cell along with what we can glean from the tunnel itself suggests that the tunnel was dug slowly over a period of several months. We believe that the miniature size of the droid and it's pace kept seismic sensor from detecting a threat. Analysis of the parts from the droid show the manufacturer as
Extent Corporation, however no digital fingerprint was able to be gleaned from its programming.
The tunnel appears to have been dug in a direct line save for one detour, and using what we could with tracking the time it would take to dig that distance, we were able to find an irregularity around when the detour occurred:
The delivery of several framed works. These paintings were framed with gold, and since we keep no valuables within the prison we believe the droid's ore scanner used this as a poor-man's homing beacon.
Statements from the Padawan's held prisoner during the exchange corroborate that the tunnel led to where a Twi'lek shuttle was being kept waiting. Two of the Imperial hands had been Twi'lek, and had come to the nearby Twi'lek village several months ago as refugees. The Padawan's were captured when they came too close to the shuttle during the escape. The shuttle landed on Tython as a Twi'lek transport and departed with Ilireth aboard.
The vessel cleared checkout using diplomatic codes for Coruscant, and we believe this is why a check was not performed on the vessel. Ilireth then transferred vessels and jumped to Corellia, where we met his forces in combat. The Twi'lek vessel was found abandoned on Coruscant and it is clear that the intent was the vessel transfer would lose our tracking of his movement. An after the fact search revealed that the same diplomatic codes used here were mentioned in a TFZ report previously.
I've attached the report for reference.
Memory core data taken from the watchdroids on Ilireth's cell show that the Kyn Eszrah's involvement was indeed voluntary, but appears to be unplanned. Recordings show Ilireth making an offer of aid to Eszrah before it was revealed what plan was underway.
Based on the evidence available, it is my personal finding that this was not an escape attempt, but rather a jailbreak. The manner used, along with the resources involved, suggests that the incident has been orchestrated from the outside and not by Ilireth himself. It is possible that one of the messages from Darth Aylaa Necare could have tipped Ilireth to the plan, however we have not yet been able to decode if any hidden message can be found.
All relevant data has been included, and is passed to archive for any member of the Order taking up investigation. Status is to be considered open and ongoing at this time, with appointment by the Custodum Council.
