Su'cuy vode! It seems you did not die since our summer celebration... Time to celebrate your survival with feasting, fighting, and clan!

As the sun wanes on far-off Mandalore, the clans gather to remember their origins once again. We turn our thoughts to mortality and fickle fortune, and recall a time when even
gods knew death!

(( Yes, it's Klingon and not Mando, but you get the idea - your theme for the evening. ))

This summer I held Oya'cye'tuur, A Very Mando Summer Solstice, and it was a great success. Time for the next in the series: Kyr'am'tuur, the Day of Death, a.k.a. A Very Mando Autumn Equinox. The theme is death, the dead, dying, reaffirming the fact that you are alive!, and putting grievances to rest. Expect an event of equal parts sombreness, celebration, bittersweet recollections, and the usual Mandalorian love of bloodshed. We will gather for a festival honoring something only a Mandalorian could celebrate: The inevitability of your own impending doom.

The festival will be held in four parts: Mingling and greetings, a formal greeting and recitation from the Akaanati'kar'oya, remembrances and stories of the dead, and a chance for honor duels with anyone you might hold grievances with. Festival will be held on Friday, September 22 at the Dancer's Palace during regular business hours at 9 PM Server Time. We will meet on the balcony and go from there! You do not have to be Mando to participate, but it is obviously going to be heavily steeped in Mandalorian themes.

Rules and Preparations

There are two potentials for organized interaction with the event, if you want to do more than feast and chatter.

Everyone attending should prepare to show up with stories of people your characters have lost, or at least a name or two to add to the circle. This is, essentially, a very large, very Mandalorian Irish Wake and a souped-up ceremonial version of the day-to-day Mando'a recitation of the dead. You may want to think about this before coming so you have a story or two to share!

There is also the potential for duels. A dueling ring will be set up at the event location for this purpose. Dueling will be handled talking stick fashion (this will make more sense once the event begins), and happen only within the bounds of the ring. Event-goers will respect the Palace's non-violence rules everywhere else. If you have a grievance to clear with someone, it's up to the two duelists to decide what kind of rules, rolls, or not they want to use. It will be ICly frowned on to refuse a duel... those who do may be asked to go back into the main cantina area. I ask therefore that duelists make sure to absolutely, 100% clear the duel with whoever they want to fight OOCly if they want to use this feature of the event.

Other than that, we are here to have fun! Hope to see you all there!

@Dassalya @Cyone Thanks for the offers to help! This should be pretty simple to run (it's not as complicated as the summer games were), so just be sure to show up with your stories and yourselves. :)

Though if either of you are particularly good at Mando'a, I do need poetry help. I figure that's a bit niche though, unlike GMing...

Sadly, the familiarity with Mando'a I once had back in the olden days of SWG has since eroded pretty much entirely, so I don't think I'd be of much help there. Sorry chum.  :umm:

Checking in with people... I know a few people are sick today, so I wanted to see what the availability was of people planning on attending!

If everyone is still set to go, this will be happening tonight at 9:30 Server Time, on the balcony of Dancer's Palace! Many, many thanks to @Seraphie for the venue. :)

All OOC:

Dancer's Palace is happy to be hosting Kyr'am'tuur!

The large balcony is set up with booths for the feast! You will find a row of tables behind the booths holds a large stack of plates and numerous dishes, most of them featuring Tatooine produce and meat, almost all of them moderately to extremely spicy. A few dishes have ingredients with more exotic origins.

While Dancer's Palace is well stocked with Tihaar, it also has in stock and on the feast menu an assortment of other drinks, a few as strong as or stronger than Tihaar, but the majority of them ales or drinks of similar strengths to ensure that those feasting are not getting so drunk as to become a hazard on the premises, given the spicy food.

While some serving droids will be assisting, most of the drink service and replenishing of dishes is being taken care of by organic staff. Dancer's Palace offered extra shifts to those interested in volunteering to work this shift.

An arena has been set up on the balcony with an electronic fence around it. Dancer's Palace's security system has been modified just for tonight, the stasis field deactivated in reaction to fighting within the arena. Please note that fighting outside the arena will still activate the stasis field and security droids will show up. Please also note that critical injury detection systems are still turned on and no battle to the death will be allowed. If someone's injuries start getting serious enough to be life threatening, a med droid will be dispatched to the arena and security droids will move in to manually activate the stasis field as needed to protect the injured individual. Staff may also manually activate the stasis field.

Please note that the usual Friday night Dancer's Palace will continue. The Mando event will be set up on the large balcony and there is no chat overlap from the balcony to the ballroom. Those attending either, can wander between either or stick to one or the other.

If you're interested in the Mando event, but don't have a Mando character, and would like to come as some of the extra serving staff, you're welcome to use whatever character as a stand in for the temporary role for the evening, just let people know OOC that that's what you're doing!

Ange will be trying to run between both events tonight! Apologies for anyone I end up missing.

Thank you so much for the help and the detailed overview, Seraphie! Worth noting though: You don't need to be a Mando to come to the event! It's open to all, for non-Mandos who might want to learn a bit of cultural flavor and brave a Mandalorian party.

Thank you everyone for attending! I hope you had a lot of fun, even if the subject matter was sad.

There will be more Mando adventures when the Winter Solstice rolls around. Until then, ret'urcye mhi!
