Ossus - Legends Never Die
« on: 02/01/19, 05:14:04 PM »
Yoda: "You must not go!"
Luke: "But Han and Leia will die if I don't."
Obi-Wan: "You don't know that. Even Yoda cannot see their fate."
Luke: "But I can help them! I feel the Force."
Obi-Wan: "But you cannot control it. This is a dangerous time for you,
when you will be tempted by the dark side of the Force."

Ossus

Out-of-Character
  • Date: Saturday February 9, 2019
  • Time: 5:00PM P.S.T
  • In-Game Location: Ossus
  • Gamemaster: @Dassalya
  • co-Gamemaster: @recoveringgeek
  • Important: This Event takes place during the Jedi Under Siege storyline.
  • Faction: This is a Republic Faction-only Event.
  • Additional: While Jedi Custodum characters will have a handy tie in if they desire a reason to be on (or on the way to) Ossus, this event is open to all!
In-Character
@Hawking Shatari, once Jedi Knight turned Diplomat and Explorer, found himself drawn to Ossus as many Jedi have, by news of a lost Jedi Colony full of survivors and hope. His reprieve was short-lived when he found himself facing new problems with old company. Together with the Mirialan Jedi Knight Dassalya Nasadee, Taelios' apprentice and all-around wild card, Anera ( @LVT ), and ornery Tramp Freighter Captain Augustus Jaade, Hawking was tasked to seek out some overdue colonists who went to investigate a crashed starship deep in the treacherous Ossus canyons.

There the quartet found the colonists—and their newly-arrived slaver captors. After rescuing many of the lost colonists, Hawking and company found evidence of logistical support provided to the slavers by the Sith Empire, including coordinates to the very world on which they stood. Knowing the Sith Empire wouldn't be far behind, Hawking escorted the bulk of the colonists back to their homesteads and safety, while Dassalya, Anera, and Captain Jaade scoured the canyons for any stragglers.

Recommended Music: Shuttle Tydirium

But not all is as it seems back at the Jedi colony. Tension lingers in the air with Ossus’ secrecy in question. Captain Nulaa Ulair stirs the pot with her anger-fueled search for survivors of the Tythonian, Twi’lek village of Kalikori. Taelios ( @Lolermelon ) and his Chiss spy-turned-major-domo, @livia, have disappeared as quickly as they arrived. It may be possible that, in the event of an attack, the commander of the independent Wraith Squadron, Caben ( @SivWysan ), and his Jedi sister, Maerin, may be able to help, but what can one squadron do against the potential, Imperial might arrayed against them?

Hawking doesn't have long to decide, for, even as he deliberates, alarms herald an impending attack. As chaos breaks out, an additional, niggling thought beckons at the back of his mind: where are Dassalya, Anera, and Jaade?

Recommended Music: Into The Trap

Hawking knows one thing is for certain. The twin suns are setting on Ossus’ future, and, with them, the likelihood of the colony—or its visitors—escaping unscathed...

Yoda: "Stopped they must be. On this all depends.
Only a fully trained Jedi Knight with the Force as his ally will conquer Vader and his Emperor.
If you end your training now, if you choose the quick and easy path as Vader did,
you will become an agent of evil".
Obi-Wan: "Patience!"
Luke: "And sacrifice Han and Leia?"
Yoda: "If you honor what they fight for, yes."

I knew some of the Palace history, but not the bit about Jaade crashing that barge. That's good lore, right there.

Hrm. Question for the GMs: Would Quarasha count enough as "Republic" for the purposes of this event? She's certainly on the Republic's side when it comes to the conflict, but don't want to have her intrude if it'd make the event a nightmare to do.
Character List:

Pub side: Lien Orell, Kyri Orell, Shaantil (possibly Dumas), Norland, Everen (bank alt ATM), Quarashaa (Pub version of the real Quarasha), Merrant

Imp Side: Quarasha, Effet Ornell, Arazel, Zedney, Zhel, Asori-Alnas

I would allow you to bring Quarasha, although I will preface that by saying that the event was built around characters who would have a strong reason for protecting the Jedi colony and/or have concerns about the welfare of Jaade/Anera/Dassalya. If you think that applies to her, then by all means!
Republic: Brinla Ruun|Dassalya Nasadee|Mihzarwi Taan|Nulaa Ulair|Tamminick Nasadee|Doz Jalth
Imperial: Adeliey Innesaud|Sadhara Zinn|Vedriat Azaera

Quarasha likes Jaade (...she really enjoys him taking the piss out of the Jedi >_> ) and feels like she still owes Dassalya a bunch. Besides, between the Jedi and the Sith, she thinks she has a better chance in a galaxy dominated by Jedi.

Sure, it's more pragmatism than ideology, but she still kinda likes the Jedi, she just doesn't want to be one of them. Don't worry, she'll totally be on their side and do all the necessary rotten stuff that the Jedi hold their nose at!

I'm going to try to make it, but still not sure what I can do for characters. Assume that whoever I bring will be a Jedi but almost certainly a total unknown (possibly more of an Ossus-local NPC, though logistically a throwaway character at level 70 may not be possible), and undoubtedly playing second fiddle or follower to the other characters. I'll just try to add some background color and life to the tapestry. (Alternatively, if you guys need an antagonist NPC let me know, I'll see if I have any alts at 70 that could fit the need.)
Niarra Reymark, Jedi Master and Diplomat // Derrad Reymark, Starfighter Ace and Softie // Jheva, Jedi Knight and Pattern Reader // Yatei, Jedi Knight and Pilot // Zelek Arr, Jedi Master and Corn Grower
Rannayel, Sith Lord and Museum Curator
Erran Veshkgalaar, Mandalorian Accountant // Caustrin Neyvor, Dangerous Puppeteer // Ariza Fey, Psycho and Pyro // Kettur Vaen, Semi-Spook

Caben still considers Quar an ally, might be willing to give her a ride with their squadron/stealth carrier.

Appreciate the earlier start time- super helpful.

Actually, you can reach Ossus without having done the new missions. Went there on my sub-20 Pub-Quar alt just fine :).
