Server RP SUMMIT Wed June 22nd (start 7 pm Server/PST locations TBA

ALL GUILDS (whether or not able to attend) Please PM me, or post here a Guild Story and Priorities/Current Engagements.  Brief summary of your identity, history and what you are doing now (be it conflicts/projects/industries).  This will help us to start to get a Big Picture of ongoing RP's and wars on the server, and what sort of future collaboration might be most useful to  the most Guilds.  Also start identifying possible server-canon conflicts to be sensitive to in planning stuff while respecting all Guild's stories

-Idea is for two big mega-meetups of Republic and Imp Guilds to address RP similarly to last meeting on PVE/PVP.  Will help guilds meet/show up in force IC and brainstorm OOC some of the possibilities for more unified Server RP initiatives (ie larger multi-guild campaigns, pvp/RP mixed open-world events, and simply getting a sense of each Guild/Sites "Big Story" and what ways we can link up- being mindful, of course that in some cases differing Head Canons may be just too fuzzy in some areas.)  The extra planets we have seem to be very interesting to some already, for example.
-Will be an IC ALL MEMBER social portion, and a portion using Teamspeak for Guild Leaders (or poss GM+1) to plan a bit more OOC. 
-Would be ideal to get some of our regular content-generating guilds there, like Jedi Custodum, Dark Network, etc and folks who generate our big RP nights (like Barge leadership, Imp War Room, etc).  But all players are welcome to attend IC portion and every Guild entitled to speak in Leaders portion.

Guessing may be scheduling conflicts for some folks who lead both sides.  Leader can be a senior officer/rep of course, whatever works best.  And folks could jump-sides during the IC portion, just decide which GM meeting you really want to be at.  May be future both-faction RP planning meeting another time.

Going to be attending as a representative of Synovian Empire on this one.

I figured something that should be discussed is how to implement more original "third faction" based RP guilds: planetary governments neutral to the war, guilds that hold philosophies that challenge Jedi and Sith teachings, etc. And how to include more guilds separated from the two factions.

As I feel a large chunk of the community that exists outside of the site here plays in guilds with themes separate from both factions.

But...how is this different than say using War Room ...which we do every week.. and is open to all Imperial RP types to come tell their guild's plots and events and story and come to agreement on lore stuff...???

War Room is *not* like Jedi Night.  We don't give lectures and lessons (usually...) its really people updating each other on guild plots and such?

And you don't have to be a diehard Sith to attend. Anyh Imperial, including neutral-friendlies, are welcome.  Of course individual Sith may not like it... but everyone is welcome. =D

Imp night is mainly about IC stuff, playing out as IC, this seems to be a more OOC "Where things are at, what's happening" type thing, devoid of IC knowledge or reactions.

I think it mostly has to do with the lack of OOC content. War Room seemed to be more of an IC opportunity to get involved with guilds, but some guilds outside of the community may be a bit more responsive to an event that is specifically for developing ties mostly through OOC means.

Rather than an IC and creative means of getting together with other guilds, an event where people sit down and discuss ways to collaborate on some plots between guilds could be better.

YEah, the IC Social part seems to mostly be just a kegger, there to keep everyone around and doing stuff when other folks are talking about OOC stuff ^_^.

Ok, my computer didn't go into a frenzy at the installation of Teamspeak, so that's good! Siv, I'll probably try and coordinate with you on a day that I'm not travelling to test it out ahead of time.

The 22nd is a day that I am travelling, and I'm not yet sure of the exact travel plans, which is why I'm really not sure what if any part of this I'll be able to make. I will, however, try to get you a write up in preparation, about Equilibrium and the RP stories we're running or helping to run. I can take care of the Alderaanian enclave too. Just need to find time to write.... not sure I have the patience to type so much up on my phone during hours of rides....

Once I have that written up, would you like me to pm it to you or post it here?

I will try to attend though our progression schedule changes almost weekly due to schedule concerns. At the very least I will have some rp info for my guild to you as soon as I can. Thank you for shoring up the part of the Rep Guild Summit that we ran out of time for. I deeply apologize that our 3+hour meeting couldn't get to RP in any real manner this time. Lessons have been learned and solutions are in progress. I will see some of you at the Imperial Guild Summit and the rest at the Server wide RP Summit and the Server wide Guild Summit.

Thanks for all the feedback and interest folks. I'll try and post more tomorrow, just returned from a trip. 

One point I'll note right now is the concerns some have that this may be more OOC than IC.  I am personally open to either- Ah-ran, the other organizer wanted to run the whole thing as a giant IC Senate meeting.  But based on the major time limitations of letting all guilds weigh in last time, we were concerned:
1) that would leave lots of folks waiting silently while leaders talk 1 at a time
2) Might lead to canon conflicts right away if multiple groups claim to be Jedi Council*, SIS, etc (hence an OOC portion the first time to try and smooth out some of these differences). 

Time is short, but I'm open to tweeking the format if folks would like more to be IC.  Would expect clear guidelines/mutual grace on areas that might conflict as a basic premise (though also getting Guild Summaries can help with this). 

Would also highly welcome the insights of @Dezz'Revas or any others to improve from last Summit in ways we might use for this part too. 

On the Question of Imp/Republic the intention noted at original post was to run 2 simultaneously.  But that may strain our organizer pool and attendance (could use a few more folks to help me and Ah-ran either way).  One option might be to run REPUBLIC on the 22nd and an Imp (and maybe 3rd non-aligned) meeting after.  I am limited on access after August, but have less ties Imp-side anyway so could work to help others organize it if they like.     

*Though the Custodum Council, at least is set up to avoid these difficulties- the Jedi Council Guild could easily represent Tython politics more, and many others Enclaves of varying ranks.  Just like to see how many potential conflicts we have

One thing I'd also love to see out of this would be for more guilds to make Guild profiles here- and at least get contact info and summaries/info posted for others so we have a common IC Directory of the most active Guilds server-wide.

If you were at the summit you know how we used the /roll for each of the Gm's in attendance to determine the speaking order and to make sure it was fair. Well we are amending that process for the imperial summit and this may be useful for you. Make sure you have a full written or typed itinerary for the meeting topics. Then decide which topics will get attention in what order. And finally have each GM that has an idea for the chosen topic /roll. This will dramatically reduce the amount of time it takes to get each topic turn order tallied and keep only the people who wish to comment on the topic in turn order. In addition to those steps make sure to have a *raises hand * option for people who have questions about the current idea. And then there are the people who come up with an idea during the conversation add them to the bottom of the turn order. I hope this helps, we are still looking at how our last summit went and are making changes to the format.

There is a problem for me personally with the current guild registry. I have no place for a grey order. Or a grey order that fights for a specific faction over the other. With only 3 options there jedi, military or smuggler and sith military or bounty hunter my guilds have no place to register with their respective factions.

@Dezzrevas , the reason the GuildNet directory is divided into Republic and Imperial is not because there are no grey factions. There are in fact a number of guilds/metagroups in the directory that are neither Republic or Imperial in-character. The reason for the dichotomy is to indicate their OOC in-game faction. There are subgroups in each of the factions on the directory, yes, but a guild or group can also simply be listed under one faction or the other without being part of a subgroup.

It may be possible for categories to be adjusted with the expansion of coverage and content of the site, but that is another topic to be discussed together along with @Bolas.
